The Pakistan U-19 team won the Asia Cup 2025 against India U-19 team on December 21 by 191 runs. Despite the victory, the Pakistan Cricket Board is getting ready to lodge an official complaint to the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding the behavior of the Indian team.
According to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the Indian players misbehaved on the field during the final and hence, the board has decided to file a complaint against the young boys. Naqvi, while speaking at the reception hosted by Pakistan PM to celebrate the victory, mentioned about the incident and assured everyone that a complaint will be raised against India.
“Indian players kept provoking Pakistani players during the Under-19 Asia Cup final," Naqvi said while speaking to the media. "Pakistan will formally inform the ICC about the incident. Politics and sports should always be kept separate.”
Pakistan U-19 team’s head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed also spoke about how the Indian players have bullied the opponents during the match and their conduct was against ‘Spirit of Cricket’.
“India's behaviour during the game was not appropriate, and their conduct was against the spirit of cricket," Sarfaraz said at the same event. "Despite that, we celebrated our victory with sportsmanship. Cricket should always be played in the right spirit; what India did reflects their own actions."
Pakistan posted 347 runs on the board in the first innings, and India failed to chase the mammoth target. Skipper and opening batter Ayush Mhatre lost his wickets early, which led to a complete downfall of the entire team.
Even Vaibhav Suryavanshi went out cheaply in the finals and the rest of the batting unit couldn't form partnerships and stick till the end. Hence, India lost the finals by a huge margin. This is the second time Team India lost another Asia Cup finals against Pakistan.
