The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been the ideal fusion of entertainment and cricket since its inception. Numerous entertainment industry stars have joined the league as owners of notable teams in the lucrative competition or even as brand ambassadors. Veteran Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, who co-owns the Punjab Kings (PBKS), formerly known as the Kings XI Punjab, is one of the most well-known IPL franchise owners.

Preity Zinta and her teammates have always had a strong bond, and she recently shared a hilarious story involving one of the IPL seasons.

She spoke about the season of 2009 when the IPL was shifted to South Africa owing to the Lok Sabha Elections back home and how her team was yearning for some Indian food.

The actress, in her interaction with Star Sports, revealed that she went on to make 120 aloo parathas for the team, which was a hit among the players.

"First time I realised, ladke khaate kitne hai (how much do the boys eat). We were in South Africa, and the hotel staff served a thakela, sadela (bad and soggy) Then I told them, 'I will teach you to make aloo paratha'. Seeing that, the boys asked if I can make all paranthas for them. I told them that I will make aloo parathas if they win the next match. They won it. Then I made 120 aloo parathas. After that I have stopped making aloo parathas," Preity said.

Talking about IPL 2023, the Punjab Kings are placed fifth on the table after securing a thrilling win against the high-flying Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

In the match against CSK, the home side batted first and scored a mammoth 200 runs. However, the Punjab batters made sure to give their all and Sikandar Raza kept his nerves at the end to help secure a last-ball win.
