The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the rankings for all the formats, and in the all-rounders’ category, Ravindra Jadeja continues to lead with 422 rating points, thanks to his unbeaten hundred and four wickets in Manchester. Washington Sundar’s maiden Test century helped him climb to joint-13th, while Ben Stokes’ all-round display took him back into the top three.
Meanwhile, Joe Root remains the top-ranked batter after his 150 at Old Trafford, while Rishabh Pant moved up to seventh following a gritty fifty. Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped to eighth but remains India’s highest-ranked Test opener. Among bowlers, Jasprit Bumrah retained his No. 1 spot, and England’s Jofra Archer moved up 13 places after a solid return to red-ball cricket.
Moreover, there has been a quiet but steady shift in the ICC T20I batting rankings, and it’s India’s Abhishek Sharma who now finds himself at the top. The 23-year-old batter has moved up the ladder with multiple consistent performances, officially becoming the No. 1 T20I batter in the latest update from the ICC.
The left-handed batter’s aggressive approach at the top of the order, especially during recent series against Zimbabwe, South Africa, and England, has helped him accumulate 829 rating points. That’s enough to move past his former Sunrisers Hyderabad opening partner, Travis Head, who held the top spot until now with 814 points.
He now becomes only the third Indian, after Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav, to reach the top of the T20I batting charts. Abhishek’s century against England in Mumbai and his quickfire fifties in the lead-up have played a major role in this achievement. His consistency has made him a key part of India’s white-ball setup going forward, especially with the T20 World Cup now less than a year away.
Tilak Varma, another young left-hander, isn’t far behind either. He’s currently ranked No. 3 with 804 points, reinforcing India’s growing depth in T20I batting. Suryakumar Yadav, despite a recent drop in form, remains in the top 10 at No. 6.
