The Indian Women's team went on to win the T20I series against Sri Lanka. They played some quality cricket and whitewashed the series, 5-0. After winning the ODI World Cup 2025, the women's team looked in terrific form, playing some incredible cricket throughout the series.

For an outstanding performance in the series, Shafali Verma won the Player of the Series award. She batted well consistently, giving the kind of starts that was helpful for the team. The next few months is quite eventful for the Women in Blue as they have the WPL coming up and the other series following that. Remembering the series, Shafali mentioned that she would like to avoid getting out the way she got dismissed in the first and the last game.

"My work throughout the year has paid off. I'm so happy that whatever I worked on I have been able to execute. But the way I got out tonight and in the first game, I wouldn't want to repeat that. Want to contribute more to the team. The aim is to play long innings and become a better player every day. Sometimes everything you work on comes off, like 10 out of 10 which gives you a lot of confidence and sometimes it will be 5 out of 10. That pushes me to work harder and I will work harder to get better for the team," said Shafali Verma at the post-match presentation.

Both are different games: Shafali Verma

The 21-year-old batter opened up about managing ODI and T20I format. She spoke about how the formats are different and also revealed that T20Is are her favorite. Shafali played a crucial role in the World Cup 2025 final and will hope to perform in the upcoming games as well.

"Both are different games. In ODI you have to play along the ground because it is a very long format, 50 overs. T20 is my favourite, I like it a lot. Day by day I am improving and I will become a better player for the team," said Shafali Verma.
