Sri Lanka Cricket has made a major strategic addition to its coaching setup ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, bringing in former India batting coach Vikram Rathour to oversee the team’s batting preparations. As per reports, the host nation has brought in the ex-Indian batting coach which is a huge move.

Sri Lanka steps up its bid to challenge for the title on home soil and co-host the tournament with India from February 7 to March 8, 2026. Rathour, a seasoned coach with a strong international exposure, is expected to join the Sri Lankan camp by mid-January 2026, giving him valuable time to work with the batting unit leading into the World Cup.
