Tensions ran high between David Miller and Washington Sundar during the India vs South Africa Super 8 encounter as the two were involved in a heated on-field exchange.

India are playing against South Africa in the Suepr 8 match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The Proteas have been in an incredible form, outplaying India today. During the match, Washington Sundar and David Miller clashed against each other and had a heated conversation.
The umpires barged in to separate them since they were fighting. The entire arguement happened as Miller ran a few steps before Sundar had bowled. Expressing his dissatisfaction, the Indian bowler went to the umpire to make a formal complaint regarding the matter. Meanwhile, Miller came from behind and started arguing over his action.
The incident took place in the 14th over when Miller was in-form, smashing boundaries all around the stadium. He scored 63 off 35 balls, including seven boundaries and three sixes. He batted at a strike rate of 180, hitting the bowlers. Along with him, Tristan Stubbs played an inredible innings, scoring 44 off 24 balls, including one boundary and three sixes. Miller also got help from Dewald Brevis who scored 45 runs, hitting three boundaries and sixes.
South Africa scored 187 runs in the first innings despite losing early wickets. In the bowling front, Jasprit Bumrah claimed three wickets while Arshdeep Singh picked up two wickets. The rest of the bowlers were quite expensive and leaked runs.
The Indian team has faced their first defeat in the ongoing tournament. They have played some quality cricket in the past but have failed to impress against South Africa. India were bowled out for 111 runs as they couldnt chase 188 runs. But the real question is can they qualify for the semi-finals even after this defeat?
Well, if India will win their next two matches, they are likely to qualify for the semi-finals. However, everything will come down to how the other teams perform and the NRR as well. The tournament has got interesting and it will be intriguing to watch the Men in Blue in action against Zimbabwe and West Indies.
