India's star batter Tilak Varma has supported captain Suryakumar Yadav and head coach Gautam Gambhir's decision of flexible batting order ahead of the third T20I match against South Africa. After leveling the series, 1-1, the Proteas will be eyeing for another victory in the upcoming game.

However, India's confusion with the batting order has draw plenty of criticism in the recent times. Hence, supporting this, Tilak mentioned that as a batter, he is ready to bat at any position in the T20Is. Even after the first T20I match, captain SKY revealed that the batters are informed to be flexible as their batting line-ups can change from match to match.

"Absolutely, everyone is flexible except the openers. I’m ready to bat at No. 3, 4, 5, or 6, wherever the team wants me. Everyone knows the batting order is flexible," said Tilak Varma at the pre-match presser.

It depends on the situation: Tilak Varma

One of the strangest things in the previous game was Axar Patel coming at No. 3 position which received a lot of criticism from experts and former players. However, Tilak Varma's contradictory views has drawn a lot of spotlight towards him. He mentioned that the batters aren't focusing on individual positions, but are prepared according to the match's situation.

"It depends on the situation. You’ve already seen this with Axar Patel in the World Cup, he went up the order and did well. One-off games happen. At that time, whatever feels best for the team, everyone keeps the team first. No one thinks about individual positions. I’ve said I’m ready to bat anywhere for the team, and all players are thinking the same way," he added.
