In the ongoing five-match T20I series in the Caribbean, the Indian team faced another defeat for a second consecutive time against the West Indies. The hosts managed to secure a narrow two-wicket victory over the Men in Blue on Sunday.

This loss came on the heels of a closely contested four-run victory for the hosts in the first T20I match held on Thursday.

Soon after, former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad openly addressed the disappointing outcomes and expressed worry about the recent performance of India's T20 squad.

“Very very ordinary. No point in brushing it aside. After the 2007 T20 World Cup, IPL started and we haven’t won a T20 World Cup in 7 attempts since, making only 1 final. The intensity and hunger to win need to be far more. Yesterday after Yuzi took 2 wkts in the 16th…", Prasad tweeted on Monday.

Additionally, the 54-year-old raised doubts about India's strategy during the second T20I. He expressed his confusion over the decision to not allocate Yuzvendra Chahal the last over of his bowling quota. This came after the leg-spinner played a crucial role in the match by taking a couple of wickets in his three overs, helping India regain momentum.

"And Yuzi got India back into the game in what was his third over and West Indies 8th down and he didn’t bowl again and No 9 and 10 for WI found the pacers easy to handle. Should be smarter at these moments than just doing textbook stuff," he added.

In the 2nd T20I, West Indies appeared to be heading for victory on Sunday but India staged a rapid recovery by securing four wickets within the span of three overs. However, Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph managed to close out the game and secure the win.

The attention will now shift to the 3rd T20I which will be played on August 8 at the Providence Stadium or Guyana National Stadium in Guyana.
