Rashid Khan is surely a bowler, but when he holds the bat, he turns into a bowler's nightmare. In match 10 of the ongoing The Hundred Men's Competition, playing for the Oval Invincibles, Rashid slammed two huge sixes that went out of the park. However, the second six was the one that caught everyone's attention.
Tim Southee bowled an off-stump ball which was quite away from the stumps. But Rashid shuffled a long way, got hold of the delivery, and smashed it for a maximum over the deep square leg with a mini-helicopter whippy flick. After a few deliveries, Rashid also went for a no-look slog sweep but couldn't send it to the boundary.
The bowler failed to contribute much to the scoreboard as he was dismissed on 16 off 9 balls. The crowd was pleased by the way he batted today and were extremely ecstatic with the sixes that he deposited in the crowd.
The Birmingham Phoenix won the toss and chose to bowl first. As the game started, captain Liam Livingstone would have been felt utmost joy since the Invincibles lost Will Jacks on the second ball and then the series of wickets continued. However, Jordan Cox and Donovan Ferreira's astounding knocks helped them get back into the game.
While Cox scored a much-needed 44 off 30 balls, including three boundaries and two sixes, Ferreira's 63 off 29 balls was extremely crucial. The Invincibles were able to score 180 runs in 100 balls, which is a pretty decent target for their opponents. Ferreira slammed four boundaries and six sixes in his innings.
For the Phoenix, Trent Boult, Benny Howell, and Adam Milne got two wickets each for the team. As we write, Phoenix need 108 runs to win in 54 balls with eight wickets in hand. It will turn out to be an incredible chase if skipper Livingstone manages to play an good knock in the match.
