India's former veteran bowler Ravichandran Ashwin has finally opened up about his future plans with his current IPL franchise, Chennai Super Kings (CSK). A few days ago, there were reports surfacing on the internet regarding Ashwin parting ways with the franchise. However, neither of the entities had opened up about the news on public platforms.

Days after the reports, Ashwin took to his YouTube channel 'Ash ki Baat' and spoke about how the franchise hasn't communicated to him regarding his future in the squad. Recently, all the top officials, along with MS Dhoni and Ruturaj Gaikwad, met in Chennai to discuss the future of the team.

Ashwin was bought at INR 9.75 crore by CSK at the mega auction in 2024. His performance wasn't very impressive throughout the tournament, which is why he didn't get a chance to play all 14 matches. However, the veteran spinner isn't quite happy with the fact that he was dropped from the team several times.

"There is no communication from my end. I can ask for clarity, which I’ve done a long time ago. What I’ve done, what’s my role, and how can I get better? I’ve asked all these because I played nine matches last year in all of these years of playing in the IPL. That was the first year when I only played nine games. Previously, I played almost every game in whichever franchise I represented. So, that was the first time. This was my first experience," said Ravinchandran Ashwin in his YouTube video.

CSK are one of the most dominant teams in the history of the tournament with five titles under their belt. However, the team's performance has gone down in the last two seasons. They failed to make it to the playoffs in both seasons, which is a rare sight for the franchise. In 15 seasons, CSK have played in the playoffs 11 times.

This speaks volumes about the domination they had in the tournament. Now it looks like Ruturaj Gaikwad is finding it difficult to help the team reach the finals. With the mini auction coming up later this year, the management will look for better options to fill in the loopholes they have in the squad.

Moreover, there are question marks regarding MS Dhoni's future in the team as well since the former captain hasn't confirmed anything yet. The fans will have to wait and see how far their favorite player will be involved in the team next year.
