In a horrifying moment during the Australia vs South Africa, 2nd ODI match in Mackay, South African all-rounder Wiaan Mulder faced a terrifying injury scare that had fans and teammates holding their breath. The incident occurred while Mulder was bowling in the second inning.
Mulder, the South African all-rounder, came to bowl in the second inning after the visitors posted 277 in the first inning. During his first ball of the inning, Mulder came running in, but while landing, he fell down shockingly.
It looked like his back foot slipped in the popping crease and could not hold his bodyweight during the delivery. However, the strong medium pacer was able to somehow fall safely and avoid a career-threatening injury.
Mulder was able to get back his rhythm and soon dismissed Australian captain Mitchell Marsh as well. Marsh tried to pull a short ball from Mulder, but skied the ball up in the air in the mid-wicket region and lost his wicket.

South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. Although captain Aiden Markram’s shocking tour continued as he went back to the pavilion on a duck, Matthew Breetzke (88), Tristan Stubbs (74) helped the visitors reach 277 in the first inning. Keshav Maharaj also added a valuable unbeaten 22 off 24 balls down the order with the bat.
Adam Zampa took 3 wickets for 63 while Marnus Labuschagne took two wickets with his bowling for the Aussies.
During the chase, Australia lost Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne early. Soon, Mulder was able to dismiss Mitchell Marsh as well.
Wicket-keeper Josh Inglis is playing a vital inning for them, with him not out on 74 from 62 at the moment. Australia need 125 runs from 120 balls with five wickets in hand. South Africa are leading the series by 1-0.
