Former Indian left-arm pace sensation Zaheer Khan has arrived at the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) camp to fulfil his mentorship duties. The pacer has replaced Gautam Gambhir, who served the franchise during the 2023 IPL season.

Zaheer Khan received a warm welcome from the fans and staff when he reached the hotel. While fans were showering their love on the former pacer, one of the fans was seen holding a placard with 'I love you' written on it. When the camera focused on the girl, it was later recognised that the girl was the same one who was holding a similar placard 20 years ago during the India vs. Pakistan test.

A different video on the internet also showcased the similarities between the two moments and quickly went viral. In the welcome video, Zaheer Khan was quick to notice the placard and was overwhelmed with joy. Watch the full video here:

Zaheer Khan to mentor young pack of bowlers

India's former veteran would be working closely with the young bowling lineup of the Lucknow Super Giants and guiding them to tackle their shortcomings. In a media interaction at the RPGS headquarters, Zaheer said, "LSG are a relatively young franchise in the IPL, but it has not been looked upon like that, the building blocks are pretty much in place."

He further stated, "They have made a lot of progress. The consistency with reaching playoffs, which is so tough in this fiercely contested competition, is something that gives me a lot of confidence when I'm looking at coming and contributing to the franchise's success."

Rishabh Pant to lead Lucknow Super Giants

India's attacking wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant, who was roped in by the franchise for a whopping Rs 27 crore, would be leading the side. With this price tag, he has become the most expensive player ever in the history of the IPL.
