Who is Tara Norris? American cricketer who took a 5-fer, including wickets of Ellyse Perry and Rich Gosh

While on paper Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) looked like one of the strongest sides in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023, however, Delhi Capitals (DC) Tara Norris wreaked havoc on RCB's line-up.

She surely had a debut to remember as she took five wickets in her first game for the Capitals. She took the wickets of Ellyse Perry (31), Disha Kasat (9), Richa Ghosh (2), Heather Knight (34) and Kanika Ahuja (0).

So, who is Tara Norris?

Tara Norris is the only cricketer from an Association nation - the United States of America. Norris was acquired by the Delhi Capitals for Rs 10 lakh in last month's WPL auction.

In a statement issued by her franchise, Norris had once said, "There are quite a few world-class players and luckily I’ll get to train with some of them and hopefully play against a few of them. I am looking to learn and embrace as much as I can”.

"Also, I have never been to India before. I will have to learn about the conditions and the climate here," she added. 

"I definitely want to do all the associate nations proud. I have a voice for those players. A lot of girls struggle with funding and facilities. I want to raise awareness for the associates and hopefully next year, more players will be involved.

"I was really surprised and honoured to be picked not only as a USA cricketer but as a representative of the Associate Nations as well," she said.
