The second set of 32 players in Round 2 of the men’s singles category at Wimbledon will be in action on July 3, as well as a few who had their matches suspended last evening owing to bad natural light. Except centre court, Court 1 and Court 2, the rest of the courts do not have lighting facilities, so matches are suspended once the sun sets, which is normally closer to 10 pm local time, despite the tournament’s 11 pm curfew.
Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, Cameron Norrie, Joao Fonseca, Karen Khachanov, Kamil Majchrzak, Mattia Bellucci, Jordan Thompson, Nuno Borges, Andrey Rublev, Adrian Mannarino and Nicolas Jarry, confirmed third round participation, with four matches, across courts, suspended and set to be resumed on July 3. Returning to finish their second-round matches are Arthur Fery and Luciano Darderi, Felix Auger Aliassime and Jan-Lennard Struff, Cristian Garin and Arthur Rinderknech, as well as Botic van de Zandschulp and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
