Wimbledon 2025: The women’s singles quarter-finals on July 8; schedule, head-to-head, live streaming

When Emma Navarro defeated Barbora Krejcikova, the stage was set for a new name to adorn the record books of Wimbledon as the women’s singles champion 2025. But then, Navarro didn’t last much longer, succumbing to Mirra Andreeva in the Round of 16. Also, in the Round of 8 and eyeing the title are World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Laura Siegemund, Iga Swiatek, Liudmila Samsonova, Belinda Bencic and Amanda Anisimova. But for Anisimova, everyone else had straight set victories that took them to the quarter-final stage.

Pavlyuchenkova has never before made it past the quarter-finals at a Slam, including Wimbledon 2016, when she fell to Serena Williams. Siegemund had made it to the quarter-final of the French Open in 2020, but at Wimbledon, her previous best was a 2nd round in 2024. This is Andreeva’s first time at this stage in Wimbledon, although she’s a former French Open semi-finalist.

For Samsonova, this is her first Round of 8 appearance at any Grand Slam, while Bencic has never made it to this stage at Wimbledon. Anisimova was a quarter-finalist in 2022, losing to Simona Halep. That leaves two ladies who are most fancied for a shot at the title – Sabalenka and Swiatek.

Sabalenka was finalist in the two Slams this year so far, but lost both, while Swiatek could only make it to the semi-final stage in each. Swiatek has won four Grand Slam titles so far, while Sabalenka has 3; the former’s missing Australian and Wimbledon, while the latter hasn’t got a French or Wimbledon title. Sabalenka's best at Wimbledon has been two semi-final appearances, while the Round of 8 has been the stumbling block for Swiatek. Can they both overcome this and set up a final encounter?

Head-to-head records of quarter-finalists

It’s been a while since Sabalenka and Siegemund have played each other, both their previous encounters coming in 2019. Sabalenka emerged victorious on both occasions in straight sets and will head into this match as the clear favourite.

In the case of Anisimova and Pavlyuchenkova, the former has a 3:0 advantage, with two of their matches as recent as 2024.
