After the young Indian women side made history by winning the ICC U19 Women's T20 World Cup, BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah, tweeted the prize money of INR 5 crores for the winning team.

By a margin of 7 wickets, the young Women in Blue team, captained by Shafali Verma, destroyed England in the title match. England's U19 women were dismissed for a pitiful 68 runs in 17.1 overs thanks to some outstanding bowling by the Indian bowlers.

When Liberty Heap was dismissed by Titas Sadhu in the opening over of play, England was unable to recover and continued to lose wickets often. Parshavi Chopra, Archana Devi, and Sadhu each took two wickets. Shafali, Sonam Yadav, and Mannat Kashyap each claimed one wicket.

India successfully chased down the simple target of 69 runs in 14 overs, losing 3 wickets in the process. Soumya Tiwari struck the decisive run for India while remaining undefeated at 24 off of 37 balls and hitting three boundaries.
