What a clash Match 17 of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was! The game ended in a last-ball thriller, with the Capitals clinching victory by just 1 run and securing their spot in the Playoffs along with Mumbai Indians (MI), now topping the table.

The main question now remains: Can RCB make it to the Playoffs despite the loss?

And what about UP Warriorz (UPW) and Gujarat Giants (GG)? Here is the qualification scenario for all teams in WPL 2024 leaving Mumbai Indians (MI) who were the first team to qualify:

Delhi Capitals (DC):

Remaining matches: vs Gujarat Giants on March 13 (Wednesday)

With a win against RCB, they have already qualified and claimed the top spot on the points table.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB):

Remaining matches: vs Mumbai Indians on March 12 (Tuesday)

RCB hangs on a thin thread if they want to make it to the Playoffs. They will have to hope for UP Warriorz to lose to Gujarat Giants, and they must also win against MI in their next match.

UP Warriorz (UPW):

Remaining matches: vs Gujarat Giants on March 11 (Monday)

For UPW, they would need to defeat the Giants in their final league game. However, they cannot qualify for the final directly.

Gujarat Giants (GG):

Remaining matches: vs UP Warriorz on March 11 (Monday); vs Delhi Capitals on March 13 (Wednesday)

While the Giants could consider themselves out of the Playoffs race, mathematically, they still have a slim chance. The Beth Mooney-led team will have to win its last two league games. Not only that, but they will also need MI to beat RCB, resulting in a three-way tie between them.

With UPW and RCB at six points each, the team with the higher Net Run Rate (NRR) advances. However, with an NRR of -1.111, Giants will face a daunting task ahead of them.
