England will face Australia in the first match of the Ashes 2025 series, starting on November 21 in Perth. The home team will be playing their first match with three star bowlers, Pat Cummins, Sean Abbott, and Josh Hazlewood. Steve Smith is set to lead the Aussies in the first game in the absence of Cummins.

However, England captain Ben Stokes looked confident during the pre-match press conference where he spoke about creating history in Australia. If we look at the stats, the English players haven't won the Ashes in a very long time and this is their chance to turn the tables around.

"Look, coming to Australia, playing against Australia, they're a seriously good team and everyone, including myself, including the team, and all you guys know that the record of England over the history of Ashes series in Australia isn't the best,” said Stokes.

"But we've got an opportunity here over the next two and a half months to write our own history," added Stokes.

We've obviously come here with the goal: Ben Stokes

England's captain Ben Stokes also spoke aboout the goal and how they can win the Ashes 2025. The English team have good news as Mark Wood is set to play in the first match against the Aussies. He suffered an injury but is fit now and will play tomorrow. With Jofra Archer and Mark Wood in the team, it looks like England might have a chance to win the first match.

"We've obviously come here with the goal and that goal is to get on that plane mid-January, returning to England, being Ashes winners. But we know it's going to be very, very tough. It's going to be hard because beating Australia in Australia is not an easy thing,” added Stokes.
