The predictions ahead of the finals of the WWE King and Queen of the Ring were not wrong. Gunther and Nia Jax were the hot favourites to win the titles. And when the WWE crowned its new King and Queen of the Ring, it was Gunther and Nia Jax. Gunther fought off a spirited attack from Randy Orton to become the 2024 King of the Ring, while Nia Jax got the better of Lyra Valkyria to be crowned Queen of the Ring.
The WWE marquee event at the Jeddah Super Dome in Saudi Arabia also played host to three other much-anticipated matches -the big showdown between Cody Rhodes and Logan Paul for the Undisputed WWE Championship, Becky Lynch vs Liv Morgan in the Women’s World Championship and the Triple Threat for the WWE Intercontinental Championship with Sami Zayn, Chad Gable and Bronson Reed.

The evening started with a surprise, when Liv Morgan beat Becky Lynch for the Women’s World Championship, that came with some assistance from Dominik Mysterio. Although beaten in the moment, Becky Lynch is already planning to reclaim the title, with a possible rematch on Monday Night Raw next week.
Sami Zayn, the defending International Champion, successfully defended his title, largely owing to Chad Gable’s attack plan (using Otis) failing. All eyes were then on the Undisputed WWE Championship between Rhodes and Paul. Fans predicted that Rhodes would prevail, but there was a point during the match when it seemed that Paul may just come up with the biggest upset of the night. There was a lot of back and forth, but Rhodes was in no mood to let go of his championship belt, given that Paul’s United States champion title was not at stake in the match.
