Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma has etched her name into cricketing history with a remarkable display in the recent ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup. She went on to become the Player of the Series for all-around skill.

In the high-stakes final at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai, Deepti delivered a match-winning performance by scoring a crucial 58 runs and taking an extraordinary five wickets for 39 runs. This remarkable feat propelled India to their first-ever Women’s Cricket World Cup title, marking a landmark moment for Indian women’s cricket.

Deepti’s achievements go beyond this single game. She became the first cricketer, male or female, to score a half-century and take a five-wicket haul in the same World Cup knockout match. Her 22 wickets in the tournament made her the highest wicket-taker and set a new record for most wickets by an Indian in a single World Cup campaign.

Additionally, Deepti became the first player across both men’s and women’s World Cups to score over 200 runs and take more than 20 wickets in a single edition.
