Diganth and veteran actor Anant Nag have collaborated on several projects and Thimmayya & Thimmayya, a film about the importance of family ties, is the latest. Directed by debutant Sanjay Sharma, the film is a light-hearted family comedy drama in which Diganth plays Anant’s grandson. According to Sanjay, Thimmayya & Thimmayya is the story of a grandfather and grandson, who meet after 30 years, and, owing to certain circumstances, have to spend three months together. The filmmaker adds that the duo rediscover each other and the missing connection between them when they stay under one roof.

It was earlier reported that the makers were eyeing a November release for the film, but according to the latest teaser that came out earlier today, Thimmayya & Thimmayya will be in theatres this December. The teaser has announced December 2 as the film’s date with audiences.

Thimmayya & Thimmayya features two leading ladies – Diganth’s wife Aindrita Ray and Shubra Aiyappa. While Diganth and Aindrita have worked together on films like Manasaare, Parijatha and the more recent Kshamisi Nimma Kaatheyalli Hannavilla, for Shubra it is her maiden collaboration with the actor. The film has been produced by Rajesh Sharma, has music by Anoop Seelin and cinematography by Balakrishna Thota. It was shot across locations in Bengaluru, Madikeri and Mysuru.

Diganth, who was last seen onscreen in Gaalipata 2, has a bunch of interesting projects coming up, including the Kannada remake of Evaru with Hariprriya and Vasishta N Simha, Edagaiye Apaghatakke Karana with Nidhi Subbaiah and the Rakshit Shetty-produced Bachelor Party with Rishab Shetty, Achyuth Kumar and Siri Ravikumar.

In June this year, the adventure loving actor had suffered a potentially catastrophic injury when an attempted backflip went wrong. Diganth had to have spinal surgery to avoid complications and made a full recovery in a short time.
