Janhvi Kapoor might be currently popular for her vibrant chat show appearances or the social media style game but as an actor, she has quite nonchalantly created an interesting filmography already. Be it the credible performance in the anthology Ghost Stories (segment directed by Zoya Akhtar) or the biographical drama Gunjan Saxena wherein she played the titular role, Kapoor is certainly in the mood to experiment with her acting choices. One such is the recent release Good Luck Jerry a black comedy crime film that also stars Deepak Dobriyal, Mita Vasisht, Sushant Singh, and many other talented actors.

Good Luck Jerry is the remake of the 2018 Kolamaavu Kokila (starring Nayanthara) and while the Hindi film has garnered mixed reviews, the audience has praised Janhvi's performance as the lead character. The comparisons, for obvious reasons, are inevitable between the two versions but the Dhadak actress isn't particularly fazed by that.

"There will be comparisons," she said in a recent India Today interview, adding that the intent behind the making of Good Luck Jerry is albeit quite different.

"We have tried to reimagine the fun setting of the film: what if the story happened in a totally different environment of Northern India as opposed to the original south Indian setting? There are pros and cons to a remake anyway because on one hand if you have the assurance that the story has already worked, you would have to also consider the fact that a majority of the audience has already watched the Tamil film," she said in the same interview.

Janhvi also talks about loving Kolamaavu Kokila and how director Sidharth Sengupta's take on it is what sets her film apart from the original. Her character of Jerry has a few interesting layers that are slowly unraveled along the course of the narrative, and she says that she was quite drawn to that exact aspect.

Janhvi Kapoor also alludes to the fact that her career has been galvanized into action mainly by her father and producers like Karan Johar who have offered her exciting acting gigs.
