If you enjoyed Devi being caught between choosing Paxton and Benjamin in the sophomore season of Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher’s Never Have I Ever, it’s triple trouble for the Indian American teenager in season 3 of the Netflix show.

The streaming giant unveiled the latest trailer of the upcoming season, while also laying bare all the exciting challenges ahead of Maitreyi Ramakrishnan’s Devi and her gang this year. The second season concluded with Devi dancing with Paxton in front of the whole school. This seems to have given Devi the right push – from a dork to the most popular kid in school, but it also came with a set of haters.

The trailer also revealed how others’ opinions – or disbelief – of Paxton falling for someone like Devi lead to a crack in their budding bond, with Devi herself questioning the why and how of the relationship. The video also hints that Devi’s mom Nalini and aunt Kamala, essayed by Poorna Jagannathan and Richa Moorjani, too have their own (mis)adventures on the side.

We also get to see the rest of the cast including Ramona Young and Lee Rodriguez as Devi’s buddies Eleanor and Fabiola, along with her psychologist Dr Jamie Ryan, help her navigate through the daily pressures of high school and drama at home, which seem to have only peaked more in the upcoming third season.

That’s not all; spicing up the drama even more is the entry of another handsome Indian kid, played by new cast member Anirudh Pisharody who was seen in Big Sky and Cerebrum. Who is Devi going to choose this time? Will Ben and Paxton finally have something in common? We will find all that out and more when season 3 begins streaming on August 12 on Netflix.
