Manso Re is currently busy with the post-production duties of his upcoming film 19.20.21. Based on real-life incidents and echoing the filmmaker's penchant for human-driven narratives that are set in a social context, 19.20.21 has piqued the interests of the audience since its inception. And to make things more alluring, Manso Re has released a new poster from his film to mark Independence Day.

"The true meaning of freedom or independence is that every citizen's life, their life style, behavior or political views remains devoid of oppression or atrocities imposed by the authorities".

As far as the poster is concerned, the latest artwork features a stirring image of a shirtless man who lies submissively in front of two police officials. The same man is also gagged and is seen with cuts and bruises across his body, suggesting a kind of systemic atrocity. Many social media users alluded to the intensity of the image and wished Manso Re and his team the best in their pursuits.

In his previous interviews, director Manso Re disclosed that the title ‘19.20.21’ refers to the past three years of 2019, 2020, and 2021. Many reports claimed that the story is set during the coronavirus pandemic but the filmmaker clarified that while the pandemic serves as the setting, the film is a poignant take on human rights violations that explores the problems of the common man.

Coming to the casting of 19.20.21, Manso Re shared that the film boasts of a good mix of well-known actors and theatre artists: earlier this year, the filmmaker expressed the desire to cast Raj B. Shetty is one of the main roles. Manso Re reunites with his ACT-1978 producer R. Devaraj for 19.20.21 with Satya Hegde coming in as the cinematographer and Ronada Bakkesh as the music composer.
