It’s a big month for Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew, with him being part of five releases from August 31 to September 23. Roshan, who has had a rather quiet year, with just Vysakh’s Night Drive and Alia Bhatt’s Netflix release Darlings will more than make up for it with his upcoming films.

He will kick off the festive season, which alone will see him in three films in Tamil and Malayalam, with Vikram’s Cobra that is set to hit theatres on August 31. It’s the first big-budget action-thriller that the actor is part of and he reportedly plays an antagonist in the movie, directed by R Ajay Gnanamuthu. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, the actor had said, “The difference in the experience itself is my biggest takeaway from that project… It has taken me by surprise; it has fully destabilised me.”

Roshan will follow this with two releases on Onam. While Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara’s Gold, which is gearing up for simultaneous release in Malayalam and Tamil, will have him in an extended cameo, his big release will be N Sreejith’s Oru Thekkan Thallu Case, which is based on GR Indugopan’s novel Amminipilla Vettu Case. The period film, which also has Biju Menon, Nimisha Sajayan and Padmapriya, has Roshan playing a character from a coastal village.

The actor will then be seen in Sidharth Bharathan’s Chathuram, a drama-thriller, that also has Swasika, Santhy Balachandran and Alencier Ley Lopez in pivotal roles. The movie is set to hit theatres on September 16.

His final release for the month will be Sibi Malayil’s political thriller Kotthu, which also has Asif Ali, Nikhila Vimal and Sudev Nair. The movie, written by Hemanth Kumar and had completed most of its shoot last year, will release on September 23.
