Anthology series True Detective announces cast

HBO’s critically acclaimed anthology crime series True Detective has announced new cast members. Aka Niviâna, Joel D, and Isabella Star Lablanc. Montgrand will join the previously announced cast of Jodie Foster, Kali Reis, John Hawkes, Christopher Eccleston, Finn Bennett, Fiona Shaw, and Anna Lambe. Series creator Nic Pizzolatto will not be helming the fourth season titled Night Country, but will serve as executive producer. Issa López will take over from Pizzolatto as showrunner.

Ronny Chieng, Chloe Bennet Board Hulu’s ‘Interior Chinatown’

Interior Chinatown the upcoming TV series based on the book by Charles Yu, has added Shang-Chi and Crazy Rich Asians star Ronny Chieng and Agents of SHIELD actress Chloe Bennet to its cast. Taika Waititi will executive produce the series and it is about a story within a story where a background character from a police procedural attempts to be part of the main story but ends up finding things more than he bargained for.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg to helm Amazon Prime series adaptation of Sausage Party

A series adaptation of the 2016 animated film Sausage Party is in the works at Amazon Prime Studios. The series will be titled Sausage Party: Foodtopia with the original voice cast members Seth Rogen, Edward Norton, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, and David Krumholtz reprising their roles. The main cast members will be joined by Will Forte, Sam Richardson, Natasha Rothwell, and Yassir Lester, and it is also confirmed that the first season will have eight episodes.

Green Lantern TV series to be redeveloped at HBOMax

One of DC’s most popular characters Green Lantern looks finally set to have a new live-action adaptation after being in production limbo for nearly a decade. The overhaul at Warner Bros since the merger with Discovery has resulted in senior executives leaving the company and several ongoing productions being canceled. It was announced earlier this week that James Gunn and Peter Safran will helm the newly rebranded DC Studios. As part of the overhaul, the Green Lantern TV series is set to be redeveloped with a new showrunner and the series will focus on the Jon Stewart version of the character instead of the earlier pitches involving the larger Green Lantern Corps. featuring Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, and others.

The Batman spin-off series finds its showrunner

Antonio Campos has been roped in as the new showrunner for the spin-off series to the 2022 film The Batman. The new series will be set around the infamous Arkham Asylum, and it is one of the two spin-offs in development from the universe created by Matt Reeves. It is one of the first projects set to be produced under the banner of the newly formed DC Studios.
