In an exclusive chat with OTTplay, Aamir Ali opened up about the phase where he was attempting to venture into the OTT space. The actor revealed he did meetings but nobody gave him work.

Aamir Ali is a celebrated television actor with some successful shows to his credit. Best known for his work in F.I.R., the actor took a break from TV. Following that, the actor was looking forward to doing some interesting work in the OTT space. But it wasn't a cakewalk for Aamir. The actor did multiple meetings but they didn't turn out to be fruitful. In an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Aamir admitted that despite meeting people, nobody gave him work initially in this medium.
Speaking exclusively with OTTplay, Aamir Ali admitted it wasn't an easy thing for him to get a break into the OTT space.
"I thought I would quit TV and I will say, 'I have taken a break from TV because I want to do some interesting work on OTT and I will get people calling me'. I did meetings but kaam nahi diya kisine. I had lunches and dinners with them but they always took me as a TV star, (in terms of) how I look and how I am. This was overlooking everything else besides what I can do as an actor. It was a waiting phase," he said.
Aamir further mentioned, "Then we require people like Hansal (Mehta) sir, who have the courage to cast you and portray you in a certain way. Maine jo patience rakha tha... someone had to give in and it was these makers who gave in." For the uninitiated, Aamir was recently seen in Hansal Mehta and Jai Mehta's web show, Lootere.
After taking a break from television, Aamir Ali explored the OTT medium with a couple of projects. The actor was seen in the ZEE5 series Naxalbari with Rajeev Khandelwal and Tina Dutta. Aamir also featured in Black Widows which had an ensemble cast. Last year, Aamir starred in Suparn Verma's series The Trial, which featured Kajol in the lead role. The actor essayed the role of a cop Pradeep Shinde.
