Television actress Shruti Das is on cloud nine. The actress is all set to begin her career on the big screen with none other than Rakhee Gulzar in Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s next film, Amar Boss. Shruti is not just satisfied with the break but also in awe of the prospect of working with the veteran actress.
“It all seems like a dream to me. What a fantastic way to start a new year,” Shruti told OTTplay. “Getting a break in Amar Boss is a life-changing event. It is the grandest Christmas and New Year gift for me,” she said.
Shruti’s latest television serial Ranga Bou ended in December. “Within 10 days I met Shibuda (Shiboprosad) and Nanditadi. I asked them when should I come for an audition and they said that I was selected. In disbelief, I asked, ‘Are you serious?’ They said, ‘Yes.’ And that’s it,” said the actress.
Shruti will start shooting for Amar Boss on January 5. “I feel blessed to be able to work with not only Rakheeji but a bunch of other senior actors, including Shibuda, Srabantidi, and others. This is a rare opportunity and I am fortunate to be a part of the film,” she said. Does she plan to return to TV? “Of course. As soon as I get an offer, I will return,” said the actress.
Shiboprosad and Nandita will start their film Amar Boss soon. Rakhee landed in Kolkata on the evening of January 3. The film is expected to be released in May.
