Meanwhile, Sourav is also prepping up for his new production, Jogsutro – a series that was announced at the Hoichoi’s annual event. While the star cast is yet to be decided, the series will delve into the life of a woman. Billed as a thriller, the show also deals with politics – institutional as well as internal. “The central character in the series is the daughter of a politician who meets with an accident. After months of comatose state, she comes back to her home. The perfection in her house seems too good to be true to her. In pursuit of imperfection, he finds a connection – ‘jogsutro’ – between her perfect life and the accident,” said Sourav. The show may go on the floors in December this year.

Talking about using politics as a subject, Sourav said, “It has always been difficult to bring politics into the content. Now it has become more difficult than before. However, it is not always about party politics. Interpersonal politics is also very important and if you can weave it in carefully, your story becomes more relevant.”

Meanwhile, Sourav’s other thriller Shwet Kali, in which he plays an important character, will be dropped in Zee 5 soon. Incidentally, this is also a thriller.

Sourav has also completed another project, Sare Saitirish – a story of a dystopian world where nobody falls in love anymore. “People in this world see living life as a professional task. As a result of this, the ministry gets worried as consumerism faces a threat. In this situation, a young man is apprehended and produced at Barasat Court for allegedly falling in love with 30 women,” said the director. Billed as a social satire, the film features Soham Majumdar, Solanki Roy, Subrat Dutt, Shataf Figar, Ekavali Khanna, Chitrangada Satrarupa, and Sohini Sengupta. The postproduction is on.
