Gurmeet Choudhary rose to fame with his mythological television show Ramayan. The actor essayed the role of Lord Ram in the show. Following his successful stint on TV, Gurmeet ventured into movies with the film Khamoshiyan in 2015. He did feature in a couple of movies later, however, the project didn't receive a great response. In a recent interview with OTTplay, Gurmeet opened up about his Bollywood career.
Speaking exclusively with us, Gurmeet Choudhary revealed that he didn't get the films that he actually wanted to do in Bollywood. The actor said, "When I ventured into films, mujhe aisi films nahi mili jo main karna chahta tha, jis mein main accha tha (I didn't get films that I wanted to do and ones where I would've been good). I earned a lot of fame and recognition on TV. I got an opportunity to work there."
Continuing on the same topic, he added, "In films, it often happens that films aapko di jaati hain aur aapko karna bhi hota hain (you are given films and you have to do them). But here in (Commander Karan Saxena), it had everything that I wanted to do. That's why I didn't compromise on anything, be it for action or scenes."
For the uninitiated, Gurmeet put a lot of effort into his web series Commander Karan Saxena, directed by Jatin Wagle. The actor plays the role of RAW agent Karan Saxena in the web show which is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
The actor further spoke about pulling off action sequences in Commander Karan Saxena despite his shoulder injury. Gurmeet told OTTplay that he took painkillers for one of his introductory scenes in the series.
"One introductory scene that you see in the first episode where I am bare-bodied, before that, I visited a doctor in the morning. Later I took painkillers in my van so thoda bhi dard na ho and I can pull off the scene," revealed Choudhary.
