Filmmaker Kunal Kohli is best known for directing romantic comedy films. The director has helmed popular rom-coms like Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji's Hum Tum, Hrithik Roshan, Rani and Kareena Kapoor's Mujhse Dosti Karoge, and many more. Teri Meri Kahaani, starring Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, was also directed by Kunal. In a recent interview with OTTplay, the filmmaker expressed his wish to see the 2012 film back in theatres.
OTTplay did an exclusive chat with Kunal Kohli during Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story's promotions. During this conversation, the filmmaker named some of his directorial projects that he wishes to see re-release in cinemas.

"Well, I think there are 2-3 films. I would love to see Teri Meri Kahaani back in the theatres. Because it didn't do as well as it could have. I think it will do very well today. Hum Tum would again be a blockbuster, I'm sure. And I also think Mujhse Dosti Karoge would be a phenomenal hit today. People would love to see it. So, yes, I'm very greedy as a filmmaker and passionate for all my films," said Kunal.
The director playfully mentioned that all of the aforementioned films should release during a 'romantic film festival'. "Sab release kardo, festival kardo - romantic film festival where I have all these films coming in the theatres and let them all have a good second run. Why not?," he added.
On the work front, Kunal is back with another rom-com titled Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story. Starring Vardhaan Puri (Amrish Puri's grandson) and Kaveri Kapur (Shekhar Kapur's daughter), the film was released on February 11, 2025. It had a direct-to-OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar.
