Teja Sajja is all set to hit the screens on September 12, 2025. Manchu Manoj plays the main villain and speaks about making a comeback, playing negative roles, taking the help of therapy, and future projects. Here is the transcript:
Mirai came to me when I was at a low point in my career. A few films of mine did not take off, and I was struggling to get going. That’s when Karthik Ghattamaneni approached me with Mirai and shocked me with the script. Him choosing me for such a key role was even more surprising. The moment I heard the script, I felt Mirai would be the perfect comeback, and I agreed right away.
I play the character of Black Sword, which is similar to Thanos from The Avengers. He is after nine special books that can give him ultimate power. A superhero in his own right, I loved playing this grey character to the T. I must also thank Karthik for showcasing me in such a new avatar.
The visuals of Mirai are outstanding, and the audience will feel the vibe in theaters. Also, the mythological touch in the film will be showcased in a stunning manner. The action, fantasy elements, and casting will impress one and all.

Times have changed, and there is no longer just a hero and a villain. Take Baahubali, for example—every character in the film had importance, and the same is the case with Mirai. My role is the backbone of the film, and when seen through my perspective, it drives the story till the end. So, I had no issues playing such a negative role.
The entire credit for Mirai goes to Karthik Ghattamaneni, my director. It is his vision, research, and characters that we are portraying. I hope the film ends up as a big hit because there will be more sequels and stories to tell in this franchise, which is one of its kind in Indian cinema.

He is a hardworking lad, and I loved working with him. He has come up the hard way and is choosing some very interesting films. Though we share limited screen time, our scenes and action blocks in the climax will be amazing to watch on screen.
I have gone through a lot in the last few years and faced many issues. I was wild and often didn’t even make sense with what I said. But my wife, sister, and mother stood by me throughout. I also took the help of therapy, which helped me immensely to make a comeback in life.

Yes, why not. I have always been inclined toward negative roles and have done them to an extent. But in Mirai, I have gone all out, and my performance will surely stand out. Even in the future, I would love to do special roles like these, which give me a lot of scope as an actor to prove myself.
