Nidhhi Agerwal on The Raja Saab: I’ve never seen a film like this, Prabhas fans will go berserk

The Raja Saab is one of the most-awaited films of 2026 and has Nidhhi Agerwal as the female lead. She speaks about bagging the film, working with the likes of Prabhas, her crazy character, and the much-hyped climax. Here is the transcript.

Have you watched the film? How confident are you about The Raja Saab?

Yes, I have seen the film while dubbing for it. It has all the elements of comedy, romance, horror, fantasy, and family drama, nicely interlaced by director Maruthi. However, it is the second half, especially the last half hour of the climax, that is truly mind-blowing. While shooting, I had no idea what we were getting into, but once the VFX and everything came together, the output turned out to be something else altogether, and everyone will be spellbound.

Tell us more about your character.

The name of my character is yet to be revealed, and I can only say that it has multiple layers, with many aspects being revealed only in theaters. My character also has a key connection to the story, which will unfold on the big screen. I can proudly say that my role in The Raja Saab is the best I have done to date, and I am eagerly looking forward to seeing how the audience reacts.

What is it like to act with a star hero like Prabhas?

I feel lucky to have acted with a star like Prabhas. I have worked with Pawan Kalyan earlier and now with Prabhas, and both are on another level. They are extremely humble, and Prabhas, in particular, is a darling, as everyone calls him. He is caring, never shows a star attitude, and is playing a fun role after a very long time. His fans will go berserk seeing him in such a humorous role. Not to forget his second avatar in the film, which has been kept a secret.

Both your films, Hari Hara Veera Mallu and The Raja Saab, were stuck in production for three years. How did you come to terms with it?

I was extremely happy when I signed these two films, as working with the likes of Pawan Kalyan and Prabhas does not happen every day. I was quite disappointed when the films were delayed. However, once they were back on track, I enjoyed every single day of the shoot. The film set is my favorite place, and no matter what mood I am in, being on set makes me feel comfortable. Some things are beyond our control, but the release of The Raja Saab is perfectly timed for a festive season, and the wait will be worth it.

How is it working with a director like Maruthi, who hasn’t made films of this scale earlier?

Maruthi is a very easygoing director, unlike some who are serious on set and can be intimidating. He is approachable, fun to be around, and open to suggestions. He has given my character a lot of depth, and if the audience likes my performance, a major share of the credit should go to him. Ever since he came on board for this project, he has worked tirelessly to deliver a completely new experience for the audience.

Is the climax really that good? Why is it being hyped so much?

Yes, the hype is absolutely justified, and everyone will understand why once they watch the film on the big screen. I have never seen such a film to date, and we spent several weeks shooting just the climax. It runs for nearly half an hour, and the fantasy elements, Prabhas’ performance, and the twists will completely blow audiences away.

Are you happy with your career so far?

I always wanted to become an actress from childhood and was obsessed with films. Today, I am living my dream and have built a strong career in Telugu cinema. Films like Hari Hara Veera Mallu have taken my popularity to the next level, and The Raja Saab will elevate it even further. I am having the best time of my life, enjoying both stardom and success.

What’s your take on AI-generated images of you and the trolling on social media?

To be frank, I was very upset when I initially came across deepfake images of myself. However, such things have now become widespread, and people are aware that these images and videos are AI-generated. I do not take them too seriously, but it does hurt when my parents come across them and feel upset. Unfortunately, this has become part of our lives, and one needs to be extremely cautious.
