Raashii Khanna interview: Telusu Kada will surprise you with its bold and shocking new-age story

Telusu Kada is all set to release on October 17, 2025. Raashii Khanna plays the female lead and speaks about her role, the hidden factor in the film, future projects, surviving so long in the industry, and much more. Here is the transcript.

Telusu Kada is not your regular love triangle – Raashii Khanna spills on her comeback film

Are you nervous about your comeback Telugu film?

Yes, a bit. Telusu Kada is not your regular triangular love story, as we have tried something really different. What it is will be known only when you watch the film on the big screen. It is a new-age romantic drama filled with strong content.

What made you say yes to the film?

When Neeraja Kona, the director, narrated the script to me, I was taken aback. The point she has touched—no one has dared to do that in Telugu cinema. Though I cannot speak much about it, that was the selling point, and obviously, my character, which had a lot of emotional depth, made me say yes.

Working with a debut director like Neeraja Kona?

I never felt she was a debut director at all. As she has been in the industry for the longest time, Neeraja was quite chill and had absolute clarity on what she was doing. Knowing her personally and seeing her pen such a unique script for Telusu Kada actually shocked me. But the way she has narrated the film with sheer class is the best part of her talent.

Working with contemporaries like Srinidhi Shetty?

For Srinidhi, it is a proper romantic drama after doing films like KGF and HIT 3. She also has a very important role and looks fab in the film. Srinidhi is a fun-loving person, and we became friends quite quickly. There are some very tense and fun moments between us, and I hope the audience will like our pair.

How is Siddhu Jonnalagadda on sets?

Unlike his image, Siddhu is a very serious person on set. He has command over every craft of filmmaking and gives his best. As he is a writer too, the way he adds a new dimension to the film is the best part. I had a great time working with Siddhu, and our chemistry is going to be superb in the film.

Tell us about your role in the film?

I play the role of Anjali, a fun-loving and charming woman. How she happens to meet Siddhu, and how the dynamics change once the character of Srinidhi enters, is the story of the film. The manner in which Neeraja has handled the love story is the USP of the film.

You have been around for more than a decade. How do you feel?

It’s all hard work and persistence. One has to be disciplined to go that long in Telugu cinema. I believe looking young is also one of the main reasons for my longevity. I keep myself fit and make sure I am updated all the time. I am currently in the best phase of my career with a handful of films.

Future projects?

I have Pawan Kalyan's Ustad Bhagath Singh, Farzi 2, two OTT projects, a Tamil film, and a love story with Vikram Massey. I am so happy to get the best work across the country and am giving my best to keep my fans happy.
