Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2

A Hindi comedy horror film that is a standalone sequel to the 2007 Bollywood film Bhool Bhulaiyaa. While the prequel was based on the Malayalam psychological horror drama Manichithrathaazhu, the sequel is loosely based on the Malayalam film Geethaanjali that was adapted from on Agatha Christie's novel Elephants Can Remember. Under the banner of Cine1 Studios and T-Series Films, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 follows Ruhaan Randhawa, a con-man who pretends to be a pyschic for the Thakur family as they seem to be haunted by a paranormal presence. Upon investigation it is revealed that the spirit belongs to Manjulika and she is driven by bloodthirsty venegence from the Thakurs. Ruhaan considers the exorcism child-play but is soon confronted with the full potential of the spirit, terrifying him but also providing him with the strength and hope to overcome the adversity. The film is written by Aakash Kaushik and Farhad Samji and directed by Anees Bazmee. Tabu, Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani,Rajpal Yadav, Amar Upadhyay, Sanjay Mishra, Mehak Manwani, Vyoma Nandi, Ashwini Kalsekar, Milind Gunaji, Karmveer Choudhary, Samarth Chauhan, Govind Namdev, and Kali Prasad Mukherjee play important roles in the film produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Anjum Khetani. The film's music is composed by Pritam with lyrical contributions from Amitabh Bhattacharya and Yo Yo Honey Singh. Audiences hailed the humour, musical score, soundtrack, cinematography and direction of the film including special praise for the performance of leading lady Tabu. The financial success of the movie made it the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022 and earned it 10 nominations at the 68th Filmfare Awards.
