Dum Laga Ke Haisha

Dum Laga Ke Haisha follows the strenous love-story of a silent but bigoted CD shop owner Prem and his school teacher wife Sandhya bethrotted to each through an arranged marriage. Despite his lack of interest in Sandhya, Prem agrees to marry her due to family pressure. Her heavy set physique puts him off and he refuses to acknowledge her or consummate the marriage. Sensing the distance between Prem and Sandhya, the families of both parties intervene in the marriage hoping to resolve whatever prejudice Prem harbours towards his wife. After a series of ups and downs, the couple they discover and rediscover the path to love, affection and kindness. The Hindi romantic drama film released internationally under the title My Big Fat Bride and claimed to have bucked stereotypes in more ways than one. Written and directed by Sharat Katariya, Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar, Sanjay Mishra, Sheeba Chaddha, Alka Amin, and Seema Pahwa play significant roles in the movie. 


Italian composer Andrea Guerra, best known for his work on The Pursuit of Happiness, was responsibly for the original music score of the film. The song "Moh Moh Ke Dhaage" got three Filmfare nominations that year for its lyrics by Varun Grover and vocals by Papon and Monali Thakur. The film also bagged Best Female Debut for Pednekar and Best Cinematography, along with the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.
