Forrest Gump

Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the 1994 American romantic comedy-drama film is based on the eponymous 1986 novel by Winston Groom. However, it is considerably different from the novel. With a screenplay by Eric Roth, the plot revolves around a simple, kind-hearted man from Alabama named Forrest Gump, who is terribly slow-witted with an IQ of 75 and yearns to be reunited with his only childhood friend named Jenny. It navigates his perspective as he lives through the 20th century’s significant historical events in the USA, including the Vietnam War, the Watergate scandal, and Hurricane Carmen. The cinematography is by Don Burgess. Starring Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump and Robin Wright as Jenny Curran, the rest of the cast includes Gary Sinise, Mykelti Williamson, Sally Field, Haley Joel Osment, Peter Dobson, Dick Cavett, Sam Anderson, Geoffrey Black, Siobhan Fallon Hogan, Sonny Shroyer, Grand L.
