Directed by Martin Campbell, the American action thriller film is based on the novel De Zaak Alzheimer by Jef Geeraerts and is a remake of the novel’s previous adaptation, the Belgian film The Alzheimer Case (2003). With the screenplay by Dario Scardapane, the film stars Liam Neeson as Alex, an expert assassin-for-hire who refuses to complete a job for a dangerous criminal organisation as it involves children. Because of this, he is targeted, and the FBI and Mexican intelligence are brought in to investigate the trail of bodies, leading them closer to Alex. Alex is skilled enough to stay ahead, but one thing holds him back— his severe memory loss. Due to this, he must question every move he makes and whom he can trust. Produced by Cathy Schulman, Moshe Diamant, Rupert Maconick, Michael Heimler and Arthur Sarkissian, the cinematography is by David Tattersall and the cast includes Guy Pearce, Monica Bellucci, Harold Torres, Taj Atwal and Ray Fearon, among others.
