Nayakan

Nayakan, which translates to hero, is a Tamil crime drama written and directed by Mani Ratnam. Loosely based on the Bombay don Varadarajan Mudaliar and the English film The Godfather (1972), it revolves around a man, Velu, in trouble with the law due to unforeseen circumstances, which turns him into a widely-feared gangster. It won Best Film at the Cinema Express Award. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Saranya Ponvannan, Janakaraj, Karthika, Delhi Ganesh, and Tinnu Anand in prominent roles.
