The Woman King

"The Woman King" is a historical drama film that takes place in 18th-century Africa and is inspired by real-life events. It tells the story of Nanisca, who is the general of an all-female military group known as the Amazons, and her daughter Nawi. Together, they fight against French and neighbouring tribes who try to colonize their land and enslave their people. The film is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and written by Dana Stevens.
