It's been a decade since Gunday premiered on the big screen. The Ali Abbas Zafar-directed film saw two heartthrobs, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, as best friends, and since then they have become "babas" of Bollywood. Who would have thought that after 10 years, Rohit Shetty would be pitting them against each other in Singham Again? On the occasion of a decade of Gunday, Ranveer and Arjun announced their reunion as being on opposite sides of the law.

Reunion announcement

RS took to his social media pages and shared the first look stills of AK, captioning them in the sweetest way.

Check it out below:

Star-studded cast and character returns

For the uninitiated, Ranveer will be reprising his role as Sangram Bhalerao from the 2018 film Simmba in Singham Again. This will be his third time donning the cop role, following an extended cameo appearance in the 2021 release, Sooryavanshi

Arjun has joined the star-studded Singham Again, with Ajay Devgn in the lead role. The film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan reprising her role from Singham Returns, whereas Akshay Kumar will once again play the role of Veer Sooryavanshi. Singham Again also sees Deepika Padukone as Shakti Shetty joining the Cop Universe, and so does Tiger Shroff!

Moreover, in addition to Arjun, Singham Again will feature Jackie Shroff reprising his role as the villain, continuing his character from Sooryavanshi.

Fan excitement for the Gunday reunion

However, it seems like fans are more excited to see the Gunday reunion onscreen, as it was something many wished for. About a few years ago, when Arjun was asked about reuniting with Ranveer on the big screen, the actor said, "We both would love to do a movie together. We are constantly in touch, and we behave as silly as always. Gunday was ahead of its time in terms of two boys being put together by a nice commercial entertainer. It's inevitable that I and Ranveer will be back soon. Now is the time for these kinds of ensemble movies, I believe."
