Inspired by the film, a film titled Silukkuvarupatti Singam was released later.

One of the highlights of the film was the combination scenes between Boss Pandi (Sivakarthikeyan) and his friend Kodi (Soori). Right from the way the two lead the 'sangam' as president and secretary to pulling each other's leg in multiple scenes, the combo was an ultimate hit. The duo went on to work in a number of films later.

Music by Imman
The film's album comprised the super hit number, Oodha Colour Ribbon, Indha Ponnungale and Paarkaathe Paarkaathe. Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam was one of the biggest hits of composer Imman.
