100 days to Coolie: Countdown begins for Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj film with special glimpse

Director Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for his LCU films, announced working with Rajinikanth, which has created much waves and anticipation in Tamil cinema. Titled Coolie, the film is scheduled to release on August 14, and fans are excited as there is only 100 days left for the film to hit theatres. The makers of Coolie released a special glimpse on Tuesday.

Undoubtedly, Coolie is one of the most expected films of the year. Featuring a stellar ensemble cast, Coolie is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and marks his first time working with Rajinikanth. The Enthiran actor, known for his massive fan base, will be seen in the action thriller which also stars actors from various industries.

With the film scheduled to release on August 14, and only 100 days left for the release, the makers marked the countdown interesting by releasing a special glimpse. Without revealing the faces, each of the prominent star cast was shown, with the glimpse ending with a shot of Rajinikanth. So far, the makers of Coolie have remained guarded about the film’s plot. But knowing about Lokesh, Coolie is expected to be high on action and heroism, serving as treat to Rajinikanth fans.

Coolie also stars Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Upendra, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan and others, with PK actor Aamir Khan set to make a cameo appearance. Beast actor Pooja Hegde will dance for a number. The film is produced by Sun Pictures and has music by Anirudh Ravichander. Coolie will follow the Jailer route and will capitalise on the Independence Day weekend. It will not fall under Lokesh’s LCU universe.

After Coolie, Lokesh will move on to Kaithi 2, the much-anticipated sequel in the LCU. Karthi will be resuming his role in the action drama, which served as the first instalment in the LCU.
