It has been 17 years since the release of the 2007 blockbuster film Sivaji: The Boss featuring Rajinikanth in the lead titular role. Sivaji: The Boss released on June 15, 2007 and featured actor Rajinikanth in collaboration with director Shankar. Produced by legendary studio AVM Productions, the film starred Shriya Saran as the female lead. The film revolves around a foreign-return software system architect who wishes to provide the poor and needy in India with free medical and educational services. Actor Nayanthara makes a special appearance for a dance number in the film.
