Filming of the upcoming heist-comedy movie is taking place in a grand bungalow. Here’s all you need to know

It is time for today’s generation to get the complete experience of how quirky and entertaining, comedy movies are from the 70s. Director Kannan will be bringing to you on screen, the remake of the much-acclaimed cult comedy movie of 1972, Kasethan Kadavulada. The movie features Shiva, Yogi Babu and Karunakaran in lead roles along with Priya Anand as the female lead.
According to a TOI report, most of the filming of the upcoming heist comedy is being taken in a palatial bungalow at ECR, Chennai. Shooting for the movie has been taking place for the past 20 days in the area. The director says that the movie’s art director Rajkumar has erected a set portraying a hi-tech multi-password protected hideout for the money and jewellery that is safely stashed by the lady of the house, played by Urvashi. She is reprising the character of the late actor Manorama.
Yogi Babu is reprising the role of the late actor Thengai Srinivasan, who appeared as the quirky and fake saamiyar (sage) in the original version. The Kolamaavu Kokila actor mentioned that he decided to take this opportunity up as a challenge to provide a tribute for the late actor.
Shiva is reprising the character of the late actor Muthuraman, who appeared as the male lead of the movie. He will also be seen romancing Priya Anand on screen, which will be their second time after 2013’s Vanakkam Chennai. Priya Anand is reprising the role of Lakshmi’s character who portrayed a pivotal role in the original version.
Karunakaran had earlier worked with Shiva and Yogi Babu in his first movie Kalakalappu and the upcoming heist-comedy will be his 75th movie, which he will be doing along with them. He is reprising the character of Srikanth from the original movie.
According to the director, the team of the upcoming movie is planning for a theatrical release, likely on Diwali, for which post-production of the movie has begun simultaneously.
