Run: The 2002 romantic action flick and its remarkable cast

Abhishek Bachchan and Bhumika Chawla played the lead roles in Jeeva's film Run. The filmmaker remade the film from the 2002 Tamil film of the same name, where he also served as the cinematographer. The original film starred R. Madhavan and Meera Jasmine in the lead roles. Boney Kapoor and Sridevi, under Sridevi Productions, produced the film.

In Run, lovebirds Siddharth (Abhishek) and Jhanvi (Bhumika) encounter obstacles in the form of Ganpat (Mahesh Manjrekar), Jhanvi's mafia brother. The standout feature of the film is undoubtedly Vijay Raaz's superb performance as Ganesh Yadav.

Vijay Raaz's reluctance and ultimate acceptance of the role

In a recent interview with DNA India, Vijay recalled turning down multiple approaches for Run. The talented actor shared that he didn't want to do this film. After refusing four times, they called him again. When they called, Vijay thought the only way out was to ask for more money, and they agreed. So, out of necessity, he ended up doing that film. The actor went on to say that he was most enjoying himself once filming started.

Run received praise for its fast-paced action sequences, suspenseful plot twists, and engaging performances by the cast upon its release. Critics gave it mixed reviews, but audiences appreciated its entertainment value.
