Tovino Thomas starrer 2018 is gearing up for its release in multiple languages, including Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, and Hindi, this Friday. Ahead of its release, a special screening was organised for celebrities and critics in the Telugu states, leaving them astounded by the film's visual grandeur and captivating storyline.

Telugu star Naga Chaitanya took to Twitter to express his admiration for the film. He tweeted, "Just watched #2018Movie in Telugu. Such a beautiful film... hard-hitting and emotional. Don't miss it this Friday. Big congrats to #JudeAnthanyJoseph @ttovino #Lal sir #VineethSreenivasan @Aparnabala2 #KunchakoBoban #AsifAli @tanviram_ #kalaiyarsan all of you were exceptional in every way... all the best #bunnyvas for the Telugu release."

Actor Anand Deverakonda was also in awe of the movie. He particularly praised the film's post-interval sequences. He expressed his amazement at the challenging sequences and the film's ability to seamlessly blend practical effects and visuals. Anand tweeted, "#2018movie is an incredible movie. Post interval is mind-blowing, and some sequences make you wonder how they even shot it. What's commendable is they achieved a lot of it via practical effects. And even if graphics were used, you can't point at any sequence and spot CGI on screen. Amazingly crafted and a great watch. Big ups to #BunnyVas sir for bringing this film to the Telugu audience."

Director Rakesh Sashii also took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the film. He described 2018 as a brilliant film that immerses viewers in the depths of the flooded waters while uplifting them with its portrayal of humanity. Rakesh tweeted, "#2018TheMovie. Brilliant film... It pulls u down deeper into the gallons of water flooded and uplifts u to sail on humanity. An epitome of hard work. As the film has a tagline 'everyone is a hero,' I feel everyone who worked for this film is also a hero."

The positive reception from celebrities and critics at the Telugu screening has generated significant buzz around 2018's release in other languages. The advance booking for the Telugu version is also encouraging. According to reports, the Telugu version has already sold Rs 30 lakh worth of tickets through advance booking. And the filmmakers are hoping the positive buzz will translate to more footfalls at cinemas across the Telugu states. 

Made on a budget of Rs 30 crore, 2018 has already crossed over Rs 140 crore in global ticket sales . And the filmmakers are confident that the release of dubbed versions will further extend its commercial success. 

Directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, besides Tovino Thomas, the film also features Lal, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Aparna Balamurali, Kunchako Boban, Asif Ali, Tanvi Ram, and Kalaiyarasan.
