Kareena Kapoor Khan made her big Bollywood debut with filmmaker JP Dutt's Refugee. The actress shared screen space with Abhishek Bachchan. Their first Hindi movie had its theatrical release on June 30, 2000. Today, Refugee has completed 24 years of its release. On this occasion, we take you back to the time Kareena opened up about the first scene, a romantic one, which she shot with her co-star Abhishek Bachchan.
In an old interview with Rediff, Kareena Kapoor Khan was asked about the first scene she shot for JP Dutta's Refugee. To this, the actress said, "It was a romantic scene between Abhishek and me. We were very comfortable from day one because he is part of my family and a close friend of mine. The chemistry was there right from the word go."
The actress had also praised her co-star Abhishek. She called him a 'better' actor. While Kareena Kapoor Khan said her co-star's dad Amitabh Bachchan was the 'best' actor, she felt Abhishek was going to be 'better than best'. Cut to today, Kareena Kapoor Khan celebrated 24 years of Refugee with a special social media post. The actress posted a video, which features a compilation of her scenes with Abhishek from the movie. While sharing it on Instagram, Bebo penned, "24 years of discovering myself and my characters … The best is yet to come…Love you all (sic)."
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan was last seen in Crew. The actress shared screen space with Tabu, Kriti Sanon, and Diljit Dosanjh in the movie. Directed by Rajesh Krishnan, the film did well at the box office. Her upcoming projects are Singham Again and The Buckingham Murders.
