3 years of Enjoy Enjaami: Music composer Santhosh Narayanan, singer Dhee and rapper Arivu collaborated to create the Enjoy Enjaami song, which took the internet by storm when it was first released in March 2021. Celebrating three years of the song, the composer took to social media to claim that the artists, along with himself, have not received any earnings from the song.

Enjoy Enjaami, composed by Santhosh and featuring Dhee and Arivu, became an instant hit upon its release. It is attached to the label Maajja and is based on the story of Arivu's grandmother, who migrated to Ceylon amid poverty. The song talks about man's relationship with nature, ancestral reference and humankind's involvement.

Santhosh Narayanan makes shocking claims

Celebrating three years of Enjoy Enjaami, Santhosh Narayanan posted a video of himself on X (formerly Twitter). In the video, he thanked the audience for showering love on the song. He added, “We were approached with owning 100 percent of the rights, revenues and royalties from this song. We were so happy. The song connected well and had over billion streams cumulatively across platforms. I want to spill the beans on how much we received net income and revenue till date, three artists put together. It is a whopping zero cents from this song. Unfortunately, we have tried to our best to reach out the label and artists, there are some world-renowned artists involved in this.”

Santhosh also said that they are yet to receive any revenue and mentioned that he will be starting his own studio because of this experience. “I want indie artists to have smooth and transparent platform to publish their work and earn revenue. I am here to posting this and I am here for you, indie artists. I will make sure your dues are cleared,” he added. The composer also made the startling revelation that his YouTube channel has been stolen and the same channel has been receiving revenue till date.

Maajja and others related to the song are yet to break their silence over the issue.

Enjoy Enjaami continues to be in soup

This is not the first time the Enjoy Enjaami song has been embroiled with controversy. In July 2021, when an edition of Rolling Stone India magazine came out, Arivu was not featured on the cover, which already had Dhee and rapper Shan Vincent de Paul for Neeye Oli. Many, including Pa Ranjith, had called out the action for erasing Arivu, despite the story being taken from his family and how the action resulted in caste-based discrimination.
