The anticipation around Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming movie Leo has hit a new height following the release of the trailer. The trailer was unveiled on October 5 giving the audience a glimpse of what director Lokesh Kanagaraj has been making for the last few months.

After the grand success of the movie's trailer, producer Lalit Kumar took part in a live Twitter, now X, space session and engaged the fans by answering some of the key questions about the project. The online event saw the attendance of over 14,000 fans, who wanted to know more about Leo.

Lalit Kumar shared various details about the movie's release plans, including that he is working on securing about 30,000 screens worldwide for Leo. He confirmed the movie will grace almost all the screens in Tamil Nadu. The state has about 1200 screens and Leo is expected to take over at least 90 percent of the screen count, leaving the rest for the other new release.

In the meantime, Lalit informed the fans that the producers have approached the government seeking special permission for fan shows across Tamil Nadu. He noted that he was in the process of obtaining permission to start the first show for the movie as early as 4 AM.

Earlier this year, a young man died while celebrating the release of Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar's Thunivu. Following this, the Tamil Nadu government imposed a ban on early morning fan shows across the state.

The producers, exhibitors and distributors, however, have been urging the government to reconsider the ban and make an exception for Leo.

Earlier, speculations were rife that Lalit was also considering the possibility of paid premieres to maximize the box office gains of Leo. However, Lalit revealed that he was no longer pursuing that option.
